The Cox Family
Five years ago, Greg and Laura Cox and Greg’s daughter Caitlyn realized together that they could be great without God. When they were married, Greg was still religious, although Laura was a closeted agnostic. Caitlyn’s religious mother regularly sent her to church, usually as a punishment, and she came home with lots of questions.
Eventually Greg started reading books by Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and Sam Harris to find answers to some of those questions. Together, Greg and Laura realized that they didn’t need religion in their family at all. Not long after that, Caitlyn came to the same conclusion. For her, it was easy to be godless in Dallas-Fort Worth. Most of the kids accept her beliefs, even though a couple gave her a hard time at first. With her family, she’s gotten to know lots of other freethinking families throughout the DFWCoR, and that makes it really easy to be a great and godless family.
